Description

A set of six George 1 silver dog nose rat tailed table spoons 1725. Excellent weight, clear hall marks and a rare set of six matching dog nose rat tailed table spoons. They are very useable but also a great addition to a collection. The silver smith William Toone, his mark are his initials WT with two pellets inside a quatrefoil, he was active in the first half of the eighteenth century. The spoons are in excellent condition and the hall marks are easily identified with the WT for William Toone, the lion passant, the leopard head for London and the letter k for 1725. These dog nose spoons are not engraved by the original owner which allows them to be personalised or secreted into a matched set of cutlery. The spoons weigh about 346g and are around 8 inches long or 22cm.
