Who We Are
The owners of this shop are Susan van-Cuylenburg, Theresa James and Mark Jones. We are siblings with a shared love of Georgian silver antiques, ancient collectables and art nouveau jewellery. We have featured on an episode of the Antiques Road Show at Tewkesbury Abbey where great interest was shown in one of our items, a 1680 complete set of silver Knives asserted to be owned by George 11 when he was the prince of Wales, it is housed in an original knife box dated by the expert in the road show of around 1710.
Our family has always shown a great interest in collecting items of social history and value and each of the members has an exceptional collection which are now for sale on this site.

Susan has a deep interest and knowledge of solid silver items ranging from spoons as early as 1578 from Elizabeth 1’s reign including many seal top examples through the Tudor dynasty to the Stuart including Charles 1 and 11 to William and Mary. She has exceptional examples of trefid, flame back trefids and dognose spoons from the United Kingdom including Jersey, through to Queen Anne. She has a series of exceptional rat tail Hanoverian spoons and other designs up to the reign of William 1V. In addition, she has coveted three prong forks from the late 1600’s plus Georgian silver knives and knife sets to the reign of William 1V. Her interests have also evolved to table ware such as Georgian cruet sets and tumbler cups dating to Queen Anne. She also has an exception array of mourning jewellery covering the Georgian to Victorian era.

Theresa has kept her interests firmly in the jewellery sector covering art nouveau and art deco through to interesting vintage designer pieces. Many of these items come from inheritances and her personal collection. Theresa has a great eye for beautiful jewellery and is constantly looking for appropriate pieces consigned by her customers. Her eye for detail is exceptional and her greatest difficulty is actually having to sell pieces she so obviously cherishes and loves.

“I have always had an interest in British history particularly the Tudors and Stuarts, this has merged into the Georgian period up until 1837, the commencement of the Victorian period. Cutlery or flatware appeared to change and flourish like Victorian culture, becoming elaborate excessive and developing multiple
spoon and fork types for differing uses for example egg spoons, grapefruit spoons, all in a myriad of decorative styles.
The items for sale have been researched where possible and all hallmarks dated. We hope our enthusiasm of each object for sale is felt by the purchaser as each one has been lovingly and sensitively chosen.”
